Message from your Hosts
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We take this opportunity to welcome you to the 32nd Annual Meeting of the Northeast Conference of Andean Archaeology and Ethnohistory. Bienvenidos! It is our pleasure to host the Conference after a 9-year hiatus and we hope that you will enjoy your time in New Haven. Yale has a century-long tradition of research in the Andes and its faculty has included researchers such as Hiram Bingham, Wendell Bennett and Thomas Patterson, and so in this tradition we are continuing with this conference.
We are gratified that so many organizations at Yale have lent their moral and financial support to make this event possible, including the Department of Anthropology, the Council on Archeological Studies, the Peabody Museum of Natural History, the Council on Latin American and Iberian Studies and the Provost Office’s Edward J. and Dorothy Clarke Kempf Memorial Fund. While you are here, be sure to visit the newly reinstalled collection of Pre-Columbian Art at the Yale Art Gallery and the small exhibit commemorating the scientific discovery of Machu Picchu at the Peabody Museum of Natural History.
